Kentucky State Assistant AD Selected for NCAA Pathway Program Danielle R. Wright
FRANKFORT, Ky. – The NCAA announced today that Harry Stinson, Assistant Athletic Director for External Operations/Compliance at Kentucky State University, has been selected to participate in the 2011 NCAA Pathway Program (formerly the Fellows Leadership Development Program). Stinson, who joined the Thorobred athletics staff at the end of 2009, is in his first full year at KSU.
The NCAA Pathway (Fellows) Program was developed with the specific goal of enhancing the employment and leadership opportunities for racial/ethnic minorities and women at the senior management level of intercollegiate athletics administration.
The program, designed to foster leadership within intercollegiate athletics, provides specific professional experiences that will enable participants with the opportunity to further develop their talents and abilities and to mesh these skills with their professional aspirations.
Prior to coming to KSU, Stinson served as the Director of Championships, Communications and Marketing at the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) for nearly five years. He also served as Interim Commissioner during 2008-09. Harry began his athletic career as a coach at the high school level coaching track and field, basketball and football. He also worked in Basketball Operations at the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), as a League Administrator at the World Boxing League and as Director of Operations at the Georgia World Games Sports Commission.
Stinson, who ran track for Florida State University from 1998-2001, is a member of several personal and/or professional organizations including: Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., NACDA and MOAA. He is a graduate of the 2009 NCAA Leadership Institute for Ethnic Minority Males and Females and recently served as a facilitator for the NCAA Division II Leadership Academy, 2008-09 and 2009-10.
Stinson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Florida State University in 2002 and a Master of Science in Sports Administration from Georgia State University in 2005.
