MEAC FOOTBALL PRESS LUNCHEON KICKS OFF JULY 30 Patricia Porter 06/15/10 MEAC Head Coaches Highlight Annual Event Virginia Beach, Va., June 15, 2010 - The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) will host the annual Football Press Luncheon, Friday, July 30 at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott Hotel (235 East Main Street, Norfolk, Virginia 23510/757-627-4200). MEAC head football coaches will be on hand to offer an inside view of the upcoming 2010 football season. A limited number of tickets are available to the public for the press luncheon and can be purchased by calling Terria Galvez at (757) 416-7100. Tickets are $30 per seat or $300 per table (10 persons) and must be purchased by 5:30 p.m. on Friday, July 24. Media members may obtain a credential for the luncheon and/or one-on-one interviews by completing an application found on www.MEACSports.com. One-on-one interviews will begin promptly at 10:30 a.m. followed by the press luncheon banquet scheduled to begin at noon. The 2010 MEAC football season kicks off on Thursday, September 2 featuring four MEAC football teams in action including Hampton at Central Michigan, Norfolk State at Rutgers, Florida A&M at Miami and conference newcomer North Carolina Central will host Johnson C. Smith (D-II). The defending MEAC Champion South Carolina State Bulldogs will kick off the season against Georgia Tech on Saturday, September 4 in Atlanta, Ga. The Delaware State Hornets will face Southern University in the sixth annual MEAC/SWAC Challenge on Sunday, September 5 in Orlando, Florida.
