LADY TROJANS FINISH FOURTH AT CIAA CHAMPIONSHIP Jim S. Junot 03/23/10 The Virginia State University women's bowling team placed fourth at the CIAA Championship, held March March 20-22 in Raleigh, N.C. The Lady Trojans won five of six matches during the first day of the championship, beating Saint Augustine's College 795-626, Johnson C. Smith University 852-815, Livingstone College 784-608, Shaw University 845-750 and Chowan University 718-712. Only Fayetteville State University stopped VSU, downing Virginia State 913-758. On the second day, VSU won three of four matches, defeating Saint Augustine's 678-492, Johnson C. Smith 690-641 and Chowan 705-531. Fayetteville State again stopped VSU, 739-715. VSU's Kendra Plummer recorded the individual high score among Lady Trojan bowlers with a score of 226. Kristin Moore also bowled a score of 223 in the championship. |
