Lady Hawks continue success in classroom

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - Eight members of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore
women's bowling team have been National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association
Academic All-Americans, the organization announced.

Juniors Kristina Frahm (Oswego, Ill.), Martha Perez (Bogota, Colombia) and
Katherine Brown (Level Green, Pa.), sophomore Stacy Parsons (Delran, N.J.), and
freshmen T'Nia Falbo (Greensburg, Pa.), Anggie Ramirez (Bogota, Colombia) Katie
Shumaker (Trafford, Pa.) and redshirt freshman Kaitlyn Young (Sycamore, Ill.) were
all presented with the honor earlier this month when UMES bowled in the USBC ITC
Sectional in Chattanooga, Tenn.

The Lady Hawks have a rich tradition of academic success. Last season, the team won
the UMES award for highest grade point average among women's teams as well as
overall at the school.

Brown, Frahm, Perez and Young also earned National Tenpins Coaches Association
Academic All-American status a season ago while Brown, Frahm and Perez were among
the returnees named to the MEAC Commissioner's All-Academic Team.

The NCAA selection show for the women's bowling championship is slated for 4 p.m.
Wednesday and can be viewed live on www/NCAA.com.
