MEAC BOWLING CHAMPIONSHIP SET FOR THIS WEEKEND Sahar Abdur-Rashid 03/16/10 Eight Teams to Compete for MEAC Championship Title VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., March 16, 2010- The 2010 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowling Championship will begin on Friday, March 19 at 9 a.m. at the Gate City Lanes in Greensboro, North Carolina. Delaware State, Maryland Eastern Shore, Hampton and Morgan State qualified from the northern division, while Florida A&M, Norfolk State, Bethune-Cookman and South Carolina State will compete from the southern division. Only the top four teams from each division are eligible to compete in the championship tournament. Howard (7-23), Coppin State (1-29) and North Carolina A&T (4-20) will not compete in the championship tournament. The tournament begins Friday with a qualifying round. After teams are seeded they will compete in a second qualifying round with Baker matches and placed in a double-elimination bracket. Play continues on Saturday with teams competing in a best-of-seven Baker series.
